“When In Our Music God Is Glorified”
We are fast approaching one of the most holy experiences of the Christian year, Holy Week. And yet, this may be one of the strangest Lenten seasons I have ever observed. As we draw closer to the cross, we are reminded of the final days of Jesus' life. We stand at the gates to Jerusalem and shout "Hosanna! Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord!".
We join the faithful followers as they sit at the feet of Jesus, listening intently to what he has to say. We join him and the disciples in the Upper Room to celebrate the Passover, where Jesus breaks bread differently, showing us a celebration, the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion. Then we journey to the cross, where we join the crowds shouting "Crucify! Crucify!" Just a few short days ago, we celebrated his entry into the city, and now call for his death. We join the disciples, the bystanders, the guards from a few thousand years ago as we prepare to celebrate a glorious Easter. Whether we worship in person or virtually, I hope that you will make plans to join us. There is no more fitting time than now for us to walk this wilderness journey with Jesus; we ourselves try to find our way in the wilderness. Looking forward to joining you Sunday as we worship online.
See you at church.
