Mother’s Day

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

“Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.

Sunday is Mother’s Day. This week I have spent time reflecting on the amazing mothers who have invested into my life. My mom who has always supported and loved me no matter what. The grandmothers God blessed me with, who taught me to value the simplicity in life and what Christlike love looked like. Mothers who had no biological relationship with me but loved me and led me all the same. This week I also spent time looking at the amazing mothers in the Bible. Mary the mother of Jesus, whose faith gave birth to the Savior of the world. Ruth and Naomie, who taught us the value of family. Hannah, who taught us the power of prayer. This week I just want to say thank you and Happy Mother’s Day to each mother God has blessed us with. Each of you are truly an example of Christ’s love and compassion to everyone who has the pleasure to be in your presence.

May you and your families have a blessed week, Brian, Mary, Brylee, Holland Funderburk
