“When In Our Music God Is Glorified”
Today marks an important time in the life of the Church – the beginning of Lent. Today is Ash Wednesday. This evening we will gather together in the sanctuary to pray and be reminded of our mortality. As we receive ashes in the sign of a cross on our foreheads, we will be reminded “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
This is a stark reminder that we are mortal. These 40 days that lie ahead of us are meant to be a time of preparation. We search ourselves and our souls. We spend time in reflection and much prayer as we prepare for the great feast of Easter. I hope that you will join us this evening as we mark the beginning of Lent. It is difficult to miss services such as this as well as Holy Week. We miss the whole story when we miss these corporate times of worship – we don'tsee the entire picture. Make plans to join us tonight. Also, remember that our first Midday Prayer Service will be Wednesday, March 13 at 12:05 p.m. in the Chapel. A light luncheon will follow. We ask that a $5 donation be given toward the cost of the luncheon.
Let us not grow weary in our work of love. Grace and Peace, Dakota
