God’s Grace Is Greater Than Our Brokenness
“Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right sprit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit.” Psalm 51: 9- 12
God can and will take our brokenness and create new life. The grace of God is what David was begging for here in Psalm 51. David believed with all that he was that his brokenness was no match for the grace of God. Today we must come to the same understanding, acknowledging that we are helpless to a merciful God. As believers we are called to understand that God’s grace is so much more than the remission of our sin, but that it is also the gift of regeneration.
