“When In Our Music God Is Glorified”
We’ve finished our Christmas celebrations, packed up our decorations, and now have some time to relax. Just a few weeks ago, we celebrated the Epiphany of Our Lord (the arrival of the Wise Men) and a few weeks from today, we will celebrate the Transfiguration of the Lord. What comes after Transfiguration Sunday? That’s right! Lent. I would imagine that some (if not many) people dread the arrival of Lent. After all, we have to give up something! We tend to discipline ourselves more during this penitent season.

We consider those things that consume so much of our time, ultimately taking our focus away from God and more toward things that give us pleasure. There is another practice during Lenten season that I find just as meaningful as giving something up: taking something on. This Lent, take on something that will allow you to draw closer to God. Take on a daily devotion, prayer time, quiet/meditative time. I would also invite you to come and worship on Wednesday’s at 12:05 p.m. in the Chapel. As we did last year, every Wednesday in Lent, there will be a service of Midday Prayer in the Chapel; following the service, there will be a light luncheon in the fellowship hall ($5 suggested donation). I hope that you will be able to attend these meaningful services. I know that you will be blessed by this worship opportunity. More next week on our upcoming Lenten Season...

Let us not grow weary in our work of Love. Grace and Peace, Dakota
