Awaiting the Return of Jesus
“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.” Hebrews 9:27-28. Our lectionary reading for this week comes from Hebrews 9:24-28, from these verses we see a glimpse of the work Jesus did on the cross, the work He continually does on our behalf in the presence of the Father,
and the work He will do when he returns. Our question this week is how are we spending our time as we await His return? We have this amazing opportunity to spread the love, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus to all we encounter. We are forgiven but we live still chained to our past. Jesus died and rose again so we could LIVE to tell about it. I encourage you this week to hold on as tight as you can to this truth, and to share it with someone else.
May you and your families have a blessed week, Brian, Mary, Brylee, Holland Funderburk
