When In Our Music God Is Glorified
It is about this time of year that I begin to break out in hives. That’s a peculiar statement, isn’t it? You might be wondering why that is. Well, Advent is coming soon. And while I love the season of Advent, it makes me a bit nervous. There are so many things to get done between now and the beginning of the season of Advent.
We must prepare for the Hanging of the Greens, Chancel Choir Cantata, Children’s Music, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day just to name a few! Not to mention other celebrations before Advent such as All Saints’ and Thanksgiving.
While we prepare our hearts for the coming of our Savior, we know that our minds aren’t quite ready. We continue to make lists of all that we need to get done between now and then. We are bombarded with outside distractions as we attempt to make ready our homes and hearts for the birth of the Savior.
I would invite you to consider singing with the Chancel Choir during the season of Advent. We have a place for you and will welcome you with open arms! Prayerfully consider how you might get “plugged-in” to Music and Worship Arts at Dyersburg First!
Grace and Peace, Dakota
