This Sunday is marked as the Transfiguration of the Lord. Transfiguration Sunday marks the end of the season after Epiphany and, perhaps more importantly, signals the beginning of the season of Lent. This year, Lent begins on February 14th. That’s right, Ash Wednesday is on Valentine’s Day!
I hope that you plan to join us on February 14th in the sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. as we begin our Lenten walk together. st
As I mentioned last week, beginning with the 1 Sunday of Lent, (February 18th) Holy Communion will be celebrated weekly in the Chapel following the morning worship service. I hope that you will take time to come before the Lord and receive Holy Communion in the intimate space of the Chapel. Often times we need a moment of quiet reflection, a place to recharge, a time to heal. May this time be refreshing for you. Also, remember that there will be a noontime service each Wednesday of Lent beginning February 21st; lunch in the Fellowship Hall will follow. We simply ask that you give a donation in any amount to assist in providing these meals. If you are interested in helping provide lunch, please contact me through the church office. See you Sunday.
Let us not grow weary in our work of love. Grace and Peace, Dakota
