Life is stressful. All of it is stressful. As Christians, we are taught not to worry. We are told that God will take care of everything, that God will never give us more than we can handle. I believe in and serve a mighty God, who can handle anything. He is the author of creation and cares for each of His creations. Stress is not from God. Stress is a side effect from sin, from the fall of humanity.

When we feel like we will never see the light at the end of the tunnel, or that I cannot possibly handle another trial, we should not doubt God or His word but dive into our relationship and the promises that are found in His word. You see, God never promises a stress-free life, or that He will make all of our problems go away, or that He will monitor our stress level and hold back the next attack from Satan. He does however tell us in scripture to “Cast your cares on Him because He cares for you” 1Peter 5:7. We were not created to walk through this world alone, we serve an awesome God who desires to take each step with us. This is one of the statements the High School Bible Study will be tackling this spring, we would love for you to join us!

May you and your families have a blessed New Year! Brian, Mary, Brylee Funderburk
