Let us fix our eyes on Jesus is the theme for this year’s “See You At The Pole”, held on Wednesday September 27th. This annual event allows the students in our community to gather together to pray for one another, their schools, and their community, a very important event that I have the privilege of attending each year. I ask you to support our students and schools this year and if you have a student encourage them to attend.
"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2
Keeping our focus in the right place will allow us to persevere during difficult times. Jesus never lost focus on the reason He was having to endure the torture that came with crucifixion. We were on His mind the entire time. When we focus on Jesus, we can see the good in the bad around us, we can see opportunities to love instead of hate. We can see ways to help instead of ways to be helpless, and we can see ways to promote Jesus instead of allowing our actions to prohibit Him from being seen.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus is the only way others can see Jesus in us. We would do well to follow Paul's advice/example in 1 Corinthians 11:1 "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ."
Have a blessed week!
