The Dyersburg/Dyer County Unit of the Salvation Army so appreciates the members of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church who gave their time and energy to ring the bell at Kroger the weekends before Christmas. The Red Kettle drive is the primary fundraiser for the year.

Church members helped raise $8,125.16 this season at the Kroger location. Thank you, Patti Lou, for your assistance signing up volunteers. The money helps people in need of food, utilities assistance, and other emergencies. The Soup Kitchen is located at 318 W. Market and is open for breakfast Mon., Wed., and Friday, 7:30-8:30 a.m. Hot lunch is served Tues, Wed., and Thurs., 12:00 - 1:00. No one hungry is ever turned away. Each month about 2,000 meals are served, and over 2,000 lbs. of food in boxes is given to needy families.

Thanks again for your generous spirit. Gods’ blessings in 2018.
