There's an old saying that "it takes a village to raise one child." I'm sure you have heard of it, and would probably agree that this is true. In a much similar vein, it takes a whole village to be the church. We cannot do it on our own. Being the Body of Christ means that we have many members sharing their specific gifts. Without each of these members, we cannot properly function. You may be wondering what any of this has to do with our music ministry. Well, I will tell you...

I have heard many members of our parish talk about how wonderful the music has been lately. Many have commented on the Parish Choir, Handbells, and songs we have sung during worship. And we are truly grateful! The thing is, there aren't that many people involved in the music ministry at the moment. We're missing someone. We're missing You. It does take a whole village to raise one child. It also takes a whole village to be the church.

You may feel that your lack of musical knowledge will keep you from joining the music ministry. I assure you, it will not. Most of the members of Parish Choir cannot read music! There is always somewhere/somehow/some way for you to give your gifts to the church. It's not about us either. It's about giving God the glory and leading His people in worship. I invite you to prayerfully consider what gifts you have to give to the music ministry and how you can participate in the life of the church...

Our church. We simply cannot do it without you. As always, my office door is open. Feel free to stop by and talk more about ways in which you can get plugged in to the music ministry at FUMC.

Blessings,
Dakota
