youth groupWelcome to the Dyersburg FUMC Youth Page!

Our youth ministry strives to meet the spiritual needs of the students in our community and provide support for their families.  We value Christ-centered fun in all that we do and hope to make our youth ministry a safe haven and home for our students.  Our goal is to always be a place of acceptance, encouragement and integrity.

music parish choir1Please join us in sharing music ministry and fellowship with Parish Choir, Childrens Choirs or Handbell Choir. Methodists have always been known as a people who love to lift their voices and instruments in praise of God. We believe music can be used as a message from God to his people.

PreschoolThe First United Methodist Church Preschool and Mother's Day Out program is a ministry of the church which has long lasting educational and spiritual effects on children and families in the Dyersburg community. We are proud of our program which includes a kindergarten-readiness curriculum, developmentally appropriate "center-based" activities, bible story lessons and music instruction which culminates in a Christmas and Spring program for the parents. Also, social skills are developed and reinforced as children begin learning to live and share together in God's world.

Our church began the Upward Basketball and Cheer program in 2008 for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade as an Outreach Program specifically designed to introduce Jesus Christ to children by creating opportunities for people to serve through sports.

Outreach Ministries"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." Matthew 25:40

Jesus speaks to us in this verse and the people of Dyersburg FUMC answer not only with our voices, but with our hands and hearts with a variety of outreach and mission projects.

Beginning at the church door and reaching out into the neighborhood, our local community, and the world, the people of Dyersburg FUMC enthusiastically seek ways to share their love of Christ with our neighbors near and far.

Mission Blitz was inspired by Matthew 25:40 where it reads, “Inasmuch as ye have done it to the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. In 2007, following the spirit of that verse, one of our members brought the idea of a day of service, where the church body would venture out into the local community to serve as His hands and feet. It was immediately embraced! That first year 268 church volunteers spread out into the Dyersburg area sharing God’s love through serving needy individuals and non-profits.
